First... thank you to EVERYONE who hopped on my soapbox to share your thoughts and experiences with the poison I call Splenda. I really feel like I am in great company with my feelings.
Second... thanks for the support I got when I slipped on Friday with my mindless, albeit small, sugar intake. One penny on the track need not derail the train. I feel better.
Third...
Hmmm... I can't remember what my third was. Hmmm... I'm sorry. My brain is a little fuzzy wuzzy today.
So let me ask you this: does sugar cause withdrawal symptoms? Other than a viscious craving for sweets, I mean. I am a'wondering if I have a touch of the flu or if my feelings of general "unwell" have to do with a sort of sugar withdrawal. Just pondering.
Today is a blah day... it was raining, and it's a Monday. Yeah, they always get me down. Good thing it's almost over! So, when you're feeling blah... what makes you happy? Let's see...
I have a poll, of sorts. Please answer the following using the scale provided:
I would like to win a scrapbooking giveaway from this blog by:
a) Participating in a blog scavenger hunt, or
b) Answering silly questions about scrapbooking, or
c) Just leaving a comment, silly... I like the path of least thinking.
Let me know. I want to do something fun, but if you'd rather I just generate a random number of one of all y'all leaving me comments, I can do that.
After all, I really do aim to please. It's in my nature. Ask anyone!
d) any of the above!
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of a scavenger hunt! I know there are side effects to caffine withdraw, so I don't see why there wouldn't be to something else. If you are stopping something that your body is used to having, I am sure it will take sometime to adjust. Yay for giveaways!
ReplyDeleteB.! I always love reading people answers to silly questions. Gives you insight to other crafters worlds!
ReplyDelete(I'm doing the sugar thing, too, and I'm a JUNKIE! Addicted to the stuff. It's hard, but ya gotta keep goin'! Good job!)
I'm with Cheri - D - any of the above!
ReplyDeleteYES! Sugar causes withdrawls! Your body's insulin response has to adjust to not having access to quick processed sugar energy...it leaves you fealing extremely fatigued. When I'm extremely fatigued or "down" I get headaches, a sore throat, a sore neck, and even nauseaus. Try breaking your meals up...do 5 or 6 small meals instead of three large ones...it keeps your insulin levels more even and gives your body more consistent energy. Eat every 3 hours even if you are not hungry and include lots of fruit until the sugar habit is broken.
Yup! I agree any of the above...the cravings do get easier and go away. I notice a significant difference when I slip and eat something really processed. I had one of those Valentine's "candy hearts" and OMG...it was gross. When I cut out the super refined stuff, I also got a headache too.
ReplyDeleteWell, if I say any of the above, as the majority thus far have done; that STILL leaves YOU to decide, so in trying to be helpful; because I too aim to please; I'll say, scavenger hunt. And thanks for being so thoughtful.
